The Senate will now consider budget reconciliation legislation that would cut employee rights and benefits. We need all NTEU members, leaders, friends, and family to take a stand. This legislation has horrific provisions that would destroy unions and threaten the foundation of our federal civil service system — and we need your voice in this fight NOW! 

This Senate bill would: 

• Give the president broad authority to reorganize the government and fire countless federal employees with little to no oversight from Congress.

• Undermine employee representation rights in the workplace.

• Force new federal employees to choose between paying a 14.4% penalty from their salary to keep the civil service protections they are legally entitled to OR giving up those protections and becoming at-will employees, while still paying a 9.4% contribution — more than double what current employees pay (4.4%).

WE CAN NOT BACK DOWN - All NTEU members, friends and family must take a stand and demand that their Senators oppose this legislation and remove these harmful provisions!
