Ask your Senators to oppose reconciliation proposals that target federal employees!

The Senate will now consider budget reconciliation legislation that would cut employee rights and benefits. We need all NTEU members, leaders, friends, and family to take a stand. This legislation has horrific provisions that would destroy unions and threaten the foundation of our federal civil service system — and we need your voice in this fight NOW!

This Senate bill would:

  • Give the president broad authority to reorganize the government and fire countless federal employees with little to no oversight from Congress.

  • Undermine employee representation rights in the workplace.

  • Force new federal employees to choose between paying a 14.4% penalty from their salary to keep the civil service protections they are legally entitled to OR giving up those protections and becoming at-will employees, while still paying a 9.4% contribution — more than double what current employees pay (4.4%).

WE CAN NOT BACK DOWN - All NTEU members, friends and family must take a stand and demand that their Senators oppose this legislation and remove these harmful provisions!

Send a letter TODAY and every day this week!

Call your Senators offices (Capitol Switchboard: (202) 224-3121) and ask them to oppose provisions in the bill that target their Federal Employee constituents!

KEEP UP THE FIGHT – CONTACT YOUR SENATORS!

NTEU leaders, members, and fellow unions are standing strong against the harmful anti-worker provisions in the House-passed budget reconciliation bill. This legislation includes severe cuts to federal employee rights and benefits—cuts we cannot and will not accept.

The Senate is currently considering changes to the House-passed bill. We have a critical opportunity to make our voices heard and demand that these provisions be removed.

Your voice matters!  We need every NTEU member – and all our family and friends - to step up and take action.

ACT NOW:  Contact your Senators today and every day this week!

Ask them to:

  1. Reject the anti-worker provisions.

  2. Protect federal employees’ rights and benefits.

  3. Stand with their federal employee constituents.

REMINDERS:

  1. Action Center Update: We have received feedback from a few NTEU members that some Congressional offices have responded to them to let them know that they categorized our advocacy letters as “autogenerated” or “form letters” Please be assured that we have confirmed that the letters are being successfully delivered to Congressional offices as intended. While some offices may use automated filters or reply to templates labeling messages as “form letters,” the messages are still being received, counted and reviewed by the appropriate staff persons and reported to the member of Congress. Please let us know if you have any further concerns or if you run into this issue.

Find events here, and in your area with the NTEU’s mobilize resource.
